Ljubljana, Slovenia

Who doesn't like a bit of Eurovision, Europe's long-running annual music competition! Years ago whilst Slovenia's voting was being announced, I couldn't help but love the Old Town's stunning Triple Bridge lit up in the background. Flight booked for this summer.

Andorra

Yet another microstate in Europe and, like Liechtenstein and San Marino, tricky to get to with no airport so I'll need to check out whether to get there via France or Spain. I think the harder the effort, the more rewarding it's going to feel when I get there :)

Phuket, Thailand

In June as part of my trip to Singapore, I'll be on a 4 night cruise and the ship will be docking in Phuket. I'm not a beach person whatsoever but there's much to discover inland too so I've an excursion booked that'll include visiting The Big Buddha.

Singapore

Heading there in June, a Facebook group I belong to suggests I have much to choose from, such as Gardens by the Bay, Singapore Zoo, Arab Street, Sentosa, Supertree Grove, Night Safari, etc. I've already booked breakfast at Raffles.

Malaysia

Again as part of the cruise in June, I'll be visiting George Town, Penang. I'm debating whether to go it alone or do a group excursion as there're pros and cons to both. Whatever I do, I just need to make sure I'm back at the port before the ship sails!

Indonesia

I'm a real sucker for ticking off countries so when I read that the island of Batam is just an hour away from Singapore by ferry, I knew that I needed to put this on my list. Another country ticked off; another stamp in my passport.

Liechtenstein

You can read more about my trip to Zurich in March 2023 as I was meant to go to Liechtenstein but I mistakenly ended up on the train travelling fast in the wrong direction! However, at least I've worked out how to get to Vaduz so I just need to find a window in my diary.

Helsinki, Finland

Very excited to be doing this as a short trip in June where I'm going to pop into Riga in Latvia and then take a ferry across to the Estonian capital city Tallinn. Once I've been to Finland, I will have visited all the Scandinavian countries.

Dubrovnik, Croatia

The beautiful red-roofed city on the Mediterranean has caught my eye and it looks like the staired alleys around the main street in the Old Town will be the subject of many photos. Whilst I'm sure that the city has much to offer, it also happens to be near the border to other countries. Can you guess what I'm thinking...?!

Bosnia & Herzegovina

More to add soon but, yes, I've seen that there's a tour company in Dubrovnik that does day trips into B&H to destinations such as Mostar.

Montenegro

Again, with Dubronvik ideally placed to 'pop' into other countries, a day trip to Montenegro is possible through a tour company. ..but the beauty of travelling alone is that I can go at 'Sarah speed'!

Tallinn, Estonia

Estonia's a short flight away from here in the UK. Well, much of Europe is so we're lucky to have a huge mix of cultures and languages to explore. I don't know much about Tallinn but this is possibly one for the autumn.

Riga, Latvia

No doubt, I'll tie this in with a trip to Estonia (although, to be honest, I might as well add Lithuania to my list as it sits between Estonia and Latvia) and I'm gaining confidence in navigating transport systems. Again, I know very little beyond enticing pictures from Eurovision!

Somewhere in South America

I've visited Europe, North America, Asia and Africa (Oceania will have to wait another year) but I fancy perhaps Uruguay. I'd just like to set foot on this so-far undiscovered continent.

Greenland

There aren't many countries from which you can fly to Greenland but what a way it'd be to finish this year of travel by visiting the world's largest island!
